HRYouth! Spring Retreat 2001: It's a Spring Thing! On Saturday, March 17, 2001, the teens from Holy Redeemer embarked on their ump-teenth annual Spring Retreat. This year, it was aptly titled "It's a Spring Thing!" Spring is a time when nature renews itself. The world seems to come alive after a long, cold winter. A bleak, lonely time is followed by a period of new life, and it is very easy to see the Lord at work in the world. Our lives are like the seasons. Although we may find ourselves in the midst of cold, hard times, if we trust in Jesus, springtime will eventually come. It is the essence of the Paschal Mystery... the example that Christ gave us when he died on the cross, and rose again. Death, followed by new life. The end of something in order to pave the way for something new. Read more about "It's a Spring Thing" on the Events page! The Passion of Christ: God's Perspective During this season of sacrifice which we call Lent, it is worthwhile to see a well-known story in a new and different way. In an effort to help us see the Passion of Jesus Christ from his Father's point of view, we share with you this story set in modern times. It's a very powerful tale, and we encourage you to share it with your parents. They will really understand. A Little Inspiration: The HRYouth! Archives Check out the Archive for a few interesting and inspirational things to read, an online version of the current HRYouth! eZine, as well as all of the back issues. From the Spring Retreat 2000: The Mandarin Game After the wonderful dialog that came about due to one of the activities on our Spring Retreat last year (2000), we decided to put the Mandarin Game online! If you were on that retreat, have your parents or siblings check it out... and see whether or not they choose 200 years of peace over the life of the Mandarin! What's Up?: Tell Us of Other Events If you know of any other events that are going on outside of the Holy Redeemer community, we would like to hear about them. For those of you visiting from other Parishes, let us know if you have things happening that might interest teens outside of your Youth Group. Simply contact me (the Webmaster) with the details, and if it's appropriate, I'll post it here.
