Welcome to the
HRYouth Message Board!!

The HRYouth Message Board is a place for you to interact with other people who are visiting the web site, and thus allows you to create some of the 'content'... making this YOUR web site.  If you've used our Message Board before, then go right to the Main Board...

If you are new to the board, than please read the comments below, and then go to this page to read our Message Board Policy Statement.

The intent of the Message Board is to allow teens to communicate and create an online community here at the HRYouth site.   Initially, all of the messages will be posted to the main board.  It is our hope that, over time, certain areas of interest will develop, and separate boards can be maintained around each of these specific topics.  For example, we may find that discussion around family difficulties needs a separate board, or perhaps dating... or maybe even spirituality and God.

If you are interested in starting a specific topic board and helping us monitor and maintain it, please contact us.  (We would love to have someone volunteer to run a Peer Ministry Board, where teens could ask questions and bounce ideas off of other teens!)

Although Message Boards are not as interactive as Instant Messaging or Chat Groups, which occur in real time, they offer what can be a much more thoughtful, less stressful means of communicating on the internet.   Because participants have time to think through questions and comments, formulating just the right message, these boards end up being more meaningful and in-depth.  And because messages are posted to the board, they remain available to people who stop by the site at a different time.  This allows the possibility of receiving much more feedback to your questions, and gives everyone a chance to participate, regardless of their 'schedule'.

You don't need to post anything if you are not comfortable doing so.  Please feel free to browse through the messages posted whenever you like.  You can participate whenever you feel comfortable doing so... or you can simply hang-out and read what others are saying.  I have a couple Message Boards that I have been 'lurking' around for quite some time and have learned a great deal, yet have never posted anything myself.  No one is required to post, so please don't feel pressured to do so.

One final thing before you continue:  if you haven't done so already, please read our Message Board Policy Statement.  By using the HRYouth Message Board, you are agreeing to all of the terms and conditions contained in this document.  Here's our legal tip for the day:  "Always read the fine print."
