Food for thought... If the end justifies the means in your situation, why can't it be the same for everyone? The danger with thinking on a small scale is that we forget what happens when our actions are amplified. It can be easy to look at someone who is old or in pain and say "Fine. It makes sense. If they are in constant pain, what is the sense in living. When does the quality of life become too low?" If the quality of someone's life has deteriorated to the point where we wonder why they are still alive, than why hasn't God called them home yet? Do we assume that we know better than God? One of our goals should be to make the lives of those around us more enjoyable and comfortable, even if they are in constant pain. Apparently it is not their time yet. One final question: What gives us the right to kill another person? If we cannot give life to the dead, why do we claim the right to give death to the living? [Return] |
